I know I have just used this mostly for school, but since my consept class is over now. (A long time ago) I won’t have to worry about what my teacher said about this being just for school!

So since I have turned my other blog into a site for doujinshies, I will try and post my stories and art work on this one ^.^I have an account at deviantart, but I will post the pictures here too ^.^ I will start with a random picture just to have some fun XD

I really like this picture, and it is one of the ones I am most pleased with without looking at too much reference pictures ^.^

The year is over, and the task has come to an end, and I thought I should post the two last pictures I made for the task ^.^

I originally planned on making this the main poster for the idea, but I got told by Amanda that it wasn’t dynamic enough, and that I should keep working on a previous picture.

I don’t know if it turned out the best, but I am quite pleased with both of them ^.^

Well, this is it for Gravity Unlimited for now, as far as I know. I might keep working on it, and I hope we get a equally fun task next semester =)

I got told at the presentation that I missed a picture that could tell a little of what was going on without having text with it. I don’t know if this picture is good enough, but I at least think it fits under the name Gravity Unlimited.

I plan on trying to colour this in photoshop, and that will be my last work for this assigment, the painting is done, and I found out it would take too long time to try and make the 3D studio task in time. But I will also post a brief summary of the story for the game.

As I understood, this time we are going to show our work for the group, then the group have ten minutes to say something about it, before I have five minutes to protect my work. To make it go fast I will post links to all my pictures here, together with the names of the work.

This is what I have gotten done so far, but I also plan on make a lot more drawings, and I will do my best in setting the story together before the task is done.

I have already made a lot of pictures of Cian, and I made one of Cain too, but I weren’t happy with it, so I have used a little time now to make a picture that I could accept.

My idea of Cain is that he is an older version of Cian, so I tried my best to draw them a little similar. Other than that I wanted to draw him kind of pretty in the same way that I drew Cian kind of cute.

Cain 2nd try:

I had some problems with where to put the hands but I think it turned out ok in the end, I loved that shirt part from under the vest, it is a longer version of the shirt that Cian has out from under his vest.

Then I decided to draw a picture from the end of the game, where Cian has to face up to the sins he commited as Cain. Even thou the pain can’t hurt Cain, who can’t see the bad in killing, it is strong enough to destroy an innocent as Cian.

To explain the difference between Cian and Cain, it is the childhood that is the key. Imagine a person that has grown up with death and that sees humans as nothing but lower beings he can do what he wants with. And then, if that person got a second chance, a second childhood, where he got brought up with love and care, would he then be a different person?

This is Cain and Cian, the same person created from two possible directions. One living his life as a vampire, seeing humans as food and nothing more. While Cian was brought up by the faceless ones, learning to love from the creatures Cain looked at as food and servants.

But in the end, is Cian’s few years with love enough to keep him above Cain’s hundred year old life with death and murder? And in the end, will Cian be alone to face the comming punishment?

The end of the world, and you stand alone:

I have worked a lot on this since last, but it has gone a little slow since I have a lot of other stuff too do too, but I have gotten the body done, and have started on the head. What might take a while later is to acctually be able to make good hair, since we have only before learned to set up really low polygon hair, and I have decided to try and make belivable hair for this one.

5. I started on trying to make the part of the shirt that stands out under, I made it the same way I made the vest, just that I tried to make it have some clothes form to it.

6. When I made the hands I started with fitting them into the vest, so you won’t see that they are not connected to any body if you watch from the side. They became a little chubby at some places, and I might not have made the joints right, but that can be arranged later. After I were done with one hand, I mirrored the other and put it on the other side of the body to make some less work.

And thus I were done with the body, and have now started on the head!

7. When making the head you start out in a new scene, and build it just like with the body, just that you only need two pictures, one of the side and one from the front. Then you make a box that covers the face both in front and from the side, before you cut away half of it, and mirror the box. this way you don’t have to do everything two times and use much time to get the head to look alike from both sides. (Even thou the human head isn’t symetrical) Then you build up the form of the head, so it ready to be molded into the face you want.

I will soon be done with the head if I work fast, so I can try and show the figure for the second presentation in May. But I don’t think I will be able to make the skeleton for the body before we are going to deliver the task.

But I will also use a lot of time to make more pictures, maybe try to draw the town of the faceless ones, and also I will have to draw a paiting of Cain, as he is as important to the story as Cian.

I haven’t posted much in a while, but that is because I have had much to do lately, and haven’t had the time to post the things I have done.

I am almost done with the painting, I only have some coloring of the face left, and I seem to have some problems placing the eye.

But when I am done with that, the picture will be complete=)

When it comes to the colors everything went perfect, but I used some time to try to decide the hair color. I thought about having it white or a king of grey, but that would make the hair fade against the skin and the light from behind. Then I went trough the possibilites, black would be wrong, since it would be too much black in the picture, but then I decided to go for black with a shade of blue, to make it look a little shiny.

The skin color was a problem from the first brush stroke, since I wanted to have it really pale, but the shadows got a little pulled out, and before I knew it I had too dark skin on him, I am still working on making it paler, and to get down the strong color on the mouth and the nose.

The last things I have to fix before adding the eye is to close the hair around the eye a little, since it seems one part of the hair is pulled too long up towards the top, making him look really long in the face.

So I am soon done with the paiting, and have started on character rigging in 3d studio max 8.

I have from before had two years with 3d studio at school, and I have made a human before, but that is with nothing inside that can make it move, so this will be my first time trying advanced character rigging. I also plan on doing realistic hair, since I just added plates and used a messy texture the last time.

Well, I will post my progress so far ^.^

1. Setting up the stage for the making of the character calls for at least three reference images, I didn’t care about the face for now, since I will make that in it’s own stage later and just add it together in the end:

2. I start on the shoes, I make one of them first, then just mirror the other so I won’t have to spend more time than I have to on something that is supposed to look the same:

(Notice that the pictures aren’t the best, rendered them quick for now, and the colors are just like that so I can see what is what when I work.)

3. Then I started with the pants, and once again I made one side first, before using mirror. You might notice that it isn’t quite done yet, since I am going to make the pants longer so they will fold over the shoes, I just have to think over how to do that, I will probably pull the sides down and fold them and cut and patch everything up a little ^.^

4. Then today I started on the vest, and I got it finished about a hour ago XD. If you see the picture I drew of Cian, he had a few details around his collar and down to his chest, I will have to arrange the rest of them for later, since I have to have something like a blouse under and a folded scarf thing over his chest. I let it be a little over his lower part, since the blouse will stick out there and cover the extra space.

Know that I haven’t used smooth on any of this yet, so it will all look better when I smoot it up and add some texture =) I’ll try to work fast so I can start on making the skeleton, I sure hope I can make it work, I will feel really proud of myself then, since I haven’t learned it at school ^.^

It is time for our first presentation of our work so far, and I just thought I would post my overview of the presentation here so I will know just what to talk about and in what order.

1. My idea, concept, genre and what is inspiring me to make what I am.

2. How I will work on this and what I have been working.

3. My sketches so far and explanation for each:

4. Problems I might have with picking up all the pieces of the puzzle inside the story and making it into something understandable.

Just uploading some progress^.^ gotten to the hair on the painting, but have decided to spare the screenshot to I am finished, but I will post a picture of Cian here to show that I am working all I can on this task=) It is so fun XD

Other than this I am working on the idea of multiple endings. There is three options, two of them is the two original endings, while there is a perfect clear ending that will end in a happy! happy! ending. I have already written down the cut scene for the original ending, and I am thinking about making a story board for one of the scenes if I have time and it fits into the task=)
